Chu-Ying Chow is a freelance illustrator and designer based in Montréal, Canada. She has worked in children's publishing for the last decade.  Before her focus on creating engaging children's books, she contributed her artistic talents to the animation industry, working on award wining animated TV series such as Arthur, Caillou, Mona the Vampire, and My Goldfish is Evil.

Chu-Ying was born in a small town in sub-tropical Hoiping, Guangdong China, and moved to Montréal, Canada at a very young age, in the middle of winter! She has fond memories of watching Saturday morning cartoons in English and French, and spending afternoons at the local library, sparking her love of books and visual storytelling. Chu-Ying continues to regularly visit the neighbourhood library, with her husband and two kids. She has a growing collection of much loved children's books that are really more for her than her kids.
